FirePower STSG digital programmable CDI with kz stator
The Firepower digital CDI coupled with the KZ stator is an unbeatable combination both in performance, reliability and versatility. The system is more than capable of operating well in excess of 20000rpm. It can be fitted to almost any single cylinder or parallel twin (using double coil). As the system is self generating, no battery is required. It will not support lights.
This system has been fitted to numerous engines with spectacular results.
Firepower FP-STSG CDI and Software
The Firepower Self Triggering Self Generating CDI is unique and operates differently to other units available, it provides a highly accurate spark as per the curve programmed with ultra high energy. In back to back dyno tests it consistently wins against other units.
The software is very versatile and easy to use. An infinite number of points can be programmed into the curve at 1 RPM and 0.01 degree increments enabling the perfect curve to be achieved.
Other features include: first spark rpm, rev limiter, moveable offset, negative advance value and much more. New features are constantly being added.
The STSG CDI was originally developed to overcome the problems associated with kick starting big bore 2 strokes with self generating digital ignitions. We solved the problems, kick starting with the STSG is a breeze, there are some unique parameters in the software to alter starting behaviour.
The Firepower STSG CDI and software were developed and coded in the U.K. All units are manufactured in the U.K. It has been tested rigorously for over 8 years on the race track and road with no failures to date.
Software is accessible online with login credentials. A small annual fee is charged for access, all Firepower CDI’s can be programmed from one account.
Below is an example curve. This is not a usable curve and is simply a demonstration of how versatile the software is.
KZ Stator
The KZ stator produces a near perfect voltage curve for the Firepower digital CDI. The voltage rapidly increases from 0 RPM to peak voltage and there is minimal drop off as the RPM increases up the range. Hence the spark energy remains very high through the whole rev range, up to and beyond 20000rpm
The KZ stator is a very robust unit, the coils are protected in an injection moulded plastic matrix to shield from vibration and heat. When used correctly it is practically indestructible. At firepower we have a ZERO failure rate on KZ stators in the 8 years we have been using them.
The KZ stator can be fitted to almost any motorcycle or kart engine and can be supplied on the standard 90mm and 94mm back plates or Firepower back plates made for any application (contact us we may have done it before)
KZ Rotor
The rotor comes with a straight central bore of 12mm, this can be machined by us for your application. Pre machined flywheels are available off the shelf for some applications. Please contact us.
Flywheel Weights are available but a woodruff key would need to be use to prevent slipping.
